BULLION
Developed in 1938 by the famous Professor Ernest Salmon of Wye College in Kent. Originates from an open pollination of Brewers Gold and a Canadian hop Manitoban. Bullion has large hop cones, which made it very popular with the hop pickers/seasonal workers from the surrounding towns. In 1968, 430 hectares of these hops were under cultivation. In 1986, the hops were massively eradicated. A few plants survived. The unique flavour profile has provided a flying come-back for these Heritage hops.
